Bringing the Essence of Nature to Life
Painter, printmaker and multi-media artist Sally Richards captures the essence and the energy we experience in the physical world, using color, form, structure and movement to convey light, love and spirit.
Sally’s current work explores “the nature of place,” capturing our connections to the physical world in intimate and moving ways, capturing our connections to the physical world. The places in Sally’s paintings and works on paper include imaginary, relational and abstract expressions drawn from observation, memory and plein air photographs. Combining technology and traditional artistic methods in new ways, she allows for an immediate emotional connection so that viewers may find something of themselves in her work.
Exhibiting her work in juried shows, Sally won three PAFA Spring Prizes-The Plastic Club Award (2016/painting) and is the two-time winner of the James N.L. Sentz Book Award (2018, 2019).
