Impressions in Oil

 

Elizabeth Breakell’s pathway to becoming an oil painter began with her career in scientific and technical illustration and continued through more than 15 years of training with regional and national artists.  

 

In producing landscapes and still lifes, Elizabeth focuses on how best to describe light, shadow and atmosphere. Her plein air landscapes capture the essence of day: a visit to a farm, a journey along a coastline or a glimpse of brilliant blooming poppies. 

 

Elizabeth’s paintings have been exhibited in juried shows and have won awards at the Artists Equity Anniversary Exhibition and the Fleisher Art Memorial.
